BUSYNESS IS NOT SYNONYMOUS TO PROGRESS!
Have you seen people who are always running up and down but never make any significant impact? How about those who are good at starting things that they never finish?
I think many people confuse being busy with being effective. The truth is, you can be very busy and very ineffective!
Consider a merry-go-round structure. When you ride on it, though it can move at a frantic speed, it never goes anywhere! Year in year out itβs revolving around the same spot.
It is not a surprise that many people operate like merry-go-round machine. They go through life doing a lot of things but never make any significant progress. They are in the same spot they were five or ten years ago. Most of them have believed a lie and embraced the illusion that busyness equals to progress!
This might be a shocker to many but really, the secret of success is not trying to do too much. Instead, it is narrowing down and focusing on a few things that you commit to do exceptionally well. You see, by devoting yourself to fewer tasks, you’re able to settle for a specific goal and give your full undivided attention.
On the other hand, when you develop this unhealthy habit of doing so many different things at one time that you never commit to finish, you’ll lose focus and concentration. You’ll spread yourself so wide but make a very shallow impact. What follows is an average, mediocrity and such like things!
Friend, being busy, running up and down, and trying to do so many things at the same time is not synonymous to being effective.
If you want to stand out at what you do, be selective. Using the power of concentration, focus your energy like a laser-beam! Commit yourself to fewer tasks and give your very best at anything you touch! Follow this and youβll be amazed by the much you can accomplish with the gift of life you’ve been given.
