The ultimate goal setting blueprint

Why you must have goals if you want to grow

Today I am writing this short article to encourage you to keep writing your goals no matter what! Keep writing down your weekly goals, monthly goals, quarterly goals, and yearly goals.

Here is why:

#1. You don’t grow by accident. You have to be very intentional.

#2. As humans, we love the comfort zone. Whether we realize it or not, the comfort zone is our default setting. It is only goals that will cause us to stretch and push ourselves out of the comfort zone.

#3. Let’s face it. There are things you are admiring and you will admire for the rest of your life because you have never committed yourself to pay the price of getting them. Knowing what you want at every stage of your life fuels commitment.

#4. Goals keep you on track. Even if you don’t achieve all of them, don’t fret. You are far much better than not having them.

#5. Without focus and unrelenting commitment, there is no reward. Goals will keep you accountable and help you to stay focused.

#6. Goals help us to be intentional about life as opposed to helplessly accepting life as it comes. This gives you a clear sense of direction in life.

#7. Goals help to clarify the target. We only pursue the things that are within our mental scope. That’s a simple but very powerful idea.

#8. Goals will also help you to track progress. You know you are getting better if you can measure progress, and you will only be able to do that if you have a target to measure against.

#9. Goals will motivate you as you have something to always look forward to. What I am talking about here is not any kind of motivation. It’s the intrinsic kind of motivation. The motivation that comes from the inside.

Let me finish with this: If you don’t have goals for this month. Face the uncomfortable truth. You are living a YOLO life!

Don’t wait for luck. To win in life you have to be deliberate.
